A few comments about the 7th and 8th grade Current Events Summary Project and the 7th gradeNational Geographic Projects.
8th graders are to have 12 CURRENT EVENTS SUMMARIES completed by Friday, October 3.
7th graders are to have 6 CURRENT EVENTS SUMMARIES and 6 NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC PROJECTS completed by Friday, October 3.
8th graders should plan to turn in two of each week between now and the deadline.

7th graders should plan to turn in two projects (mixed however you choose to do them...2 of each a week, or 1 of each per week)
Here is a suggestion. Look at your syllabus and find the nights that you don't have homework, or very much homework for Social Studies class, and then do one of those projects as your homework for that night. Use your syllabus to help you come up with a game plan for completing these outside assignments. Remember the word for you this year is ORGANIZATION, ORGANIZATION, ORGANIZATION! So use that syllabus to help you get organized.
http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/archives . There are SEVERAL years of back issues online here. You may need to look around the site for the maps needed for your project, if you don't see them included with the online back issues.
This 9 weeks these projects will be evaluated using the HUMANITIES CRITERION D: Organization and Presentation rubric. These will be evaluated by a different RUBRIC each 9 weeks period.
